Editorial Team — Runewager

How we check facts

  • Every claim on a page here falls into one of three categories, and each category is checked differently.

Operator facts — amounts, limits, licence numbers, payment methods, game studio names. These are checked against a live account at Runewager at the time of writing, and the account is kept open for the lifetime of the page so that the next review cycle starts from the same place.

Market facts — statements about the US market, regulator contacts, helpline numbers. These are checked against the regulator or helpline website at the time of writing, and are revisited on each page rewrite.

Editorial judgement — pros, cons, scores, verdicts. These are not facts in the same sense; they are our opinion based on the operator and market facts above. They can be reasonably disagreed with, and we welcome that disagreement by email.

Where the expertise comes from

  • Nessa joined Northstone after ten years in operator support — most of it as a shift lead on an iGaming support desk — which is the vantage point from which this site is written. If you have ever waited on live chat at 3 a.m. and wondered what the agent was actually looking at, Nessa was that agent for a decade. That history shapes how the pages here read support quality, bonus voids and cashier delays.

Padraig came from the other side — payments operations at a payment service provider — and knows which rails move money quickly, which rails are slow by design and which rails are slow because an operator holds funds on purpose. His withdrawal tests on this site run every rail at least twice, two weeks apart, so a one-off slow payout does not drag a score down.

Who does what

  • Two editors share the writing on this desk. Nessa Baird is the editorial lead and covers the Runewager mobile app, cashier flow, support experience and the main review cycle. Padraig Mellor is the senior reviewer and handles payments, withdrawal timings and the long payout tests. Between them they also share the service pages — this Team page, the Editorial Guidelines, the Methodology page and the Affiliate Disclosure.

Responsibility is distributed by topic, not by page type. If a change in the Runewager cashier affects both the Deposits page and the Mobile App page, the same reviewer owns both edits — the aim is to keep the facts across pages consistent, which is harder than it sounds.

Working with us

  • We hire slowly and we hire for domain depth. If you have five or more years inside an iGaming operator — in support, payments, VIP management, compliance or RG — and you want to try freelance writing with us, send a letter and two writing samples to editorial@rune-wager.com with the subject "Editorial". We reply to every serious enquiry inside two weeks even if we are not hiring at that moment.

We do not take freelance pitches on bonus or offer content. The affiliate link on this site is already placed; it is not a slot to be sold.

Reach the editors directly

  • If you want to reach one of the editors directly rather than the general desk, use the editorial inbox and name the editor in the subject line: either "For Nessa" or "For Padraig". Both editors read every mail that mentions them by name and reply within two working days.

How we work

  • A new review cycle begins with a shared document in which both editors list what has changed on the Runewager operator since the last cycle — new games, a different cashier screen, a reshaped bonus, a licence update. We then split the pages that need rewriting and send drafts to each other for review before publication. Only after both editors sign off does the Updated date on the page move forward.

We do not publish from drafts the operator has supplied to us. We do not accept copy from marketing agencies. We write our own pages from our own notes, and if a figure on the operator side changes between the time we draft a page and the time it goes live, the page is held until the figure is verified again.
